START-UP DETERMINED TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE BAGSTER HITS THE STREETS TO SUPPORT CLEAN-UP AND REBUILDING
Client:
BAGSTER (2007 - present)Assignment:
BAGSTER hired Jackson Spalding to develop and implement their product rollout in early 2008. With limited marketing dollars, BAGSTER was looking for a way to launch the product in major markets across the Southeast. As part of a multi-faceted plan, Jackson Spalding suggested developing a cause marketing program as a cost-effective way to distribute and demo the product among potential buyers, as well as garner media coverage.
Strategy/Implementation:
Our plan included both reactive and proactive cause-marketing efforts. On the reactive front, BAGSTER supported a community cleanup day organized by Atlanta City Councilman Kwanza Hall in the Old Fourth Ward neighborhood of Atlanta. The historic Old Fourth Ward is the birthplace of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. and the location of the Martin Luther King Jr. Center. BAGSTER donated 100 bags and disposal service for the cleanup, and company employees helped clear several vacant lots.
On April 26, 2008 a national non-profit organization, Rebuilding Together, celebrated its 20th Annual National Rebuilding Day. In a first-ever partnership with the organization, BAGSTER supported Rebuilding Day projects in Atlanta, Miami, Phoenix, Tampa and Washington DC.
Results:
In the Old Forth Ward, BAGSTER assisted with the removal of more than 50 tons of trash. BAGSTER's efforts were covered by WXIA-TV, the Atlanta Business Chronicle, and Atlanta Intown. BAGSTER also formed a very strong alliance with Councilman Hall's office. They continue to contact us for support in ongoing clean-up issues.
For Rebuilding Together, BAGSTER donated 450 BAGSTER bags and collected 80 tons of debris over a several-week long initiative. Media coverage included: CBS Atlanta, FOX Tampa, and HGTV.
