WHITNEY MILLER

Whitney’s quick mind, committed work ethic and natural people skills have placed her on a rapid career trajectory since her start with Jackson Spalding in 2003. She currently leads the award-winning Orkin Residential business, focusing on strategic public health partnerships and cause-related marketing to enhance the company’s brand recognition across North America. Internally, she chairs our Career Development team.

In 2008, Whitney led Orkin’s “Fight the Bite” campaign, a partnership with the United Nations Foundation’s “Nothing but Nets” initiative. This innovative promotion contributed to a 33 percent increase in mosquito services revenue and funded the purchase and distribution of more than 13,000 insecticide-treated bed nets in malaria-ravaged countries. The program won top honors at the 2008 Public Relations Society of America’s Georgia Phoenix awards and was a finalist in national competition.

Before her work with Orkin, Whitney gained experience in both consumer and business-to-business accounts, managing high-profile projects for Coca-Cola, Shell and Georgia Transmission Corporation, among others.

She originally planned to work in television, and was honored to intern for the late Tim Russert on NBC’s “Meet the Press” during the intense news rush following the 9/11 crisis. She also spent time at CNN where she wrote and produced a Fortune 500 segment for Headline News. These experiences have contributed to her success in landing top-tier news placements for her clients.

Whitney serves on the board of the American Marketing Association’s Atlanta chapter and was recently selected for a coveted placement on the 2010 Rotary Group Study Exchange to India for a four-week cultural and vocational program.

She grew up in Owensboro, Ky., but has been an Atlantan since her college days at Agnes Scott where she graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa.
