BRIAN BRODRICK
A member of our firm since 1997, Brian Brodrick established our Athens, Ga. office in 2004 and oversees all business operations there. It is one of the fastest growing offices in the state with more than 30 clients and seven professionals. He also provides leadership on many regional and national accounts and serves as a member of the Jackson Spalding Management Team.
Before joining Jackson Spalding, Brian was a reporter for The Rome News-Tribune in North Georgia. His strategic approach to media relations has resulted in prominent placement of client stories in the Associated Press, Reuters, The Wall Street Journal and on CNN. He is often tapped by the media for insights on a plethora of civic, trade and business topics.
Brian was elected as a Watkinsville City Councilman in 2003. In addition, he serves as Marketing Vice President and Executive Board member for the Northeast Georgia Council of Boy Scouts, as a trustee of the University of Georgia’s Grady College, a board member of the Athens Area Chamber of Commerce, on the University Relations Committee for the Athens Area Chamber of Commerce and as a member of the National Real Estate Editors Association. In 2007 he was recognized by Georgia Trend as one of Georgia’s “40 under 40 Best and Brightest” citizens. In 2008, he was named as Berry College’s Outstanding Young Alumnus and by the Athens Banner-Herald as one of the region’s rising business leaders.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Berry College and completed additional graduate-level coursework at The University of Georgia. He won the “Peach of an Athlete” award as a top collegiate student-athlete from the Boy Scouts of America’s Atlanta Area Council and was recognized as an All-American runner. Weekend warriors may be impressed to know that he once placed sixth in the Empire State Building Run-Up, which clocks the fastest times of competitors sprinting up the famed building’s 103 flights of stairs.
Brian resides in Watkinsville with his wife, Susan, and their children Phoebe, Aaron and Rebecca. On the weekends, he enjoys spending time outdoors, running, cycling or continuing his quest to decorate his yard with rare shrubs and unusual trees.
