LAWRENCE GELLERSTEDT
Lawrence has been exposed to a wide variety of situations in his young career, including world-renowned scientists, angry protestors and Harley-riding celebrities. Whatever the circumstances, you can bet he will be in the thick of the action with a hands-on approach backed by a calculated strategy.
He grew up at the heels of his father and grandfather who owned a venerable Southeastern construction firm, so began his career working for real estate clients. More recently he hit the road with the Chick-fil-A Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America, a motorcycle marketing tour organized to raise funds for Victory Junction Gang Camp. He also has been an on-site player for a significant public affairs project in coastal Georgia.
Lawrence is delighted to be publicizing the work of the Georgia Research Alliance, an organization his grandfather helped found to merge academics and business for economic growth in the state. He also follows family tradition in his passion for anything involving the City of Atlanta. He is a member of the Commerce Club and was recently named to the Board of Advisors for the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce where he serves on the Transportation Committee.
Lawrence graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts in History, and furthered his studies at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. While there, he wrote his research paper on the impact of World Wars I and II on the psyche of Australian men.
He loves golf, wakeboarding and baseball, which he played competitively until his arm gave way in college. This unfortunate turn of events led him to a passion for coaching, which is definitely in his future once his toddler son, Calvin, is ready to step up to the plate and swing a bat.
