BRIAN STEELY
Although his family has a rich history in the newspaper business, Brian Steely elected to pursue a career on the visual side of communications as a founding member of JS Creative. He joined our firm in 1997 and has become a prolific graphic designer in virtually every medium.
Brian's work was selected for the LogoLounge Master Library book series, which serves as a resource for international design professionals. CMYK design magazine has featured his work as well. If you are a fan of the rock band, Widespread Panic, then you likely have seen Brian's freehand illustrations on concert posters in national circulation.
A native Atlantan, Brian graduated from Pace Academy. He studied English and Philosophy at Presbyterian College, where he wrote for The Blue Stocking, the student newspaper, and Figs and Thistles, the college's literary magazine. He went on to attend The Portfolio Center, where his work won the school's "Best of Show" award during his second quarter.
Brian and his wife Sarah live in East Atlanta with their two children, Stella and Dylan. They like to spend their weekends at the lake with their two dogs, Gideon and Lucinda, whose names are in tribute to Brian's passion for folk, bluegrass, and alt-country music. Brian unwinds and gains creative inspiration by playing the mandolin, experimenting with photography and cycling, although not at the same time.
