Dijana is our social media strategist, serving as a hands-on consultant for all our client teams. If you want to stay in the know about how the social and digital landscape is evolving, she’s your girl. But first you need to know that her name rhymes with Rihanna, not Diana.
During college at the University of Georgia, Dijana envisioned herself telling stories through the airwaves, which led to her degree in Digital and Broadcast Journalism. But, as traditional media evolved, she amped up the digital side of her resume, applying her natural curiosity to explore new media platforms emerging at the time.
She began as a social media intern for Turner Sports, moving on to become the Production Manager with a focus on social media for InsideCarolina.com, the official news hub for the University of North Carolina’s athletics program. After four years in Tar Heel Country, she returned to the ATL to serve as the New Media Manager for Nfinity Athletic, contributing significantly to brand development for the women’s sports apparel company.
Next, she led social media efforts for Raycom Media Group’s digital startup, The Southern Weekend. While there, she created and managed daily online content, leveraging Raycom’s broadcast portfolio to build a digital audience. Sometimes she did double-duty as the on-air talent, too.
As a lifelong sports enthusiast, Dijana couldn’t pass up a gig with AMBSE Media Group, overseeing digital and social platforms for the newly built Mercedes-Benz Stadium, home of the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta United. She gained agency experience later as the Senior Social Media Strategist for The Morrison Agency.
Dijana credits her childhood as a Bosnian refugee for her writing and storytelling talent. Emigrating here as a kindergartener, she learned English by watching re-runs of The Brady Bunch and WWE Wrestling, later perfecting her language skills in ESOL classes. By middle school she was a published poet and the winner of a Toys R Us essay contest.
Fun facts? She has one cat named Hermione, a six-foot wingspan, and close to 9,000 Twitter followers.
