Emily is a member of our human resources team, spending most of her time focused on talent acquisition. She says she could talk to a brick wall if necessary, so her loquacious leanings are perfectly suited to her job.
Prior to Jackson Spalding, she was a recruiter at Elev8 Hire Solutions, helping to source high-tech professionals for start-ups and mid-sized companies. Before that, she held a similar position at RemX Specialty Staffing, where she helped clients fill jobs for call centers and medical records companies. In case you’re curious, she says it takes at least 14 tries to get a response when you’re wooing top technology talent, but communications professionals make her job much easier.
During college, Emily actually interned at an advertising agency and coordinated a promotional tour for a McDonald’s co-op. So, she entered into our world with eyes wide open, grateful to be back among the creative.
Emily originally thought she’d pursue psychology and was on track to become a family counselor. But, her senior practicum at Auburn University proved more intense than anticipated and she decided HR was more her jam.
During her childhood in Baton Rouge, Emily was an accomplished equestrian, winning many thoroughbred competitions with her horse, Roman. Her athleticism today skews more toward skiing, tennis, kickball and running with her white lab, Lucy.
