Katie is a communication strategist with a passion for children, making her a natural fit for our Primrose Schools team. She works alongside her counterparts at the early education and care provider, primarily contributing social media strategy and content marketing. She’s also a “go to” for any client experiencing a crisis or issue on social media, bringing a steady hand to online reputation management.

Prior to joining us, Katie was a regular contributor to the Jones County News in her hometown of Macon, Ga., writing stories about individuals and organizations there. She also served as Communications Director for Camp Grace, a ministry that seeks to transform the lives of underserved, urban youth through an overnight summer camp experience.

A magna cum laude graduate of The University of Georgia, Katie earned bachelor’s degrees in both Public Relations and Religion. While in school, she stayed active as the Events Chair of Reformed University Fellowship and as a member of the Public Relations Student Society of America. She was selected as one of five seniors to compete on UGA’s PRSSA Bateman Competition Team, which placed among the top national competitors for its plan to raise awareness about affordable housing issues in Athens, Ga.

During college, Katie completed five internships in public affairs and public relations. She was especially thankful for the time she spent designing digital media for Special Olympics of Jones County, an organization that provides community for her younger brother, an athlete with Down syndrome.

When she’s not reading or writing, Katie can be found watching Georgia football, hiking and spending time with her mentee through Blueprint 58, a community-based mentoring program in Southwest Atlanta. She and husband, Ryan, have put down roots in Atlanta’s Adair Park neighborhood, where they enjoy exploring the Atlanta BeltLine’s Westside Trail.
