Mason is a digital creative director who merges design and technology to help clients explore their message in a visual way. You can think of him as a digital architect who creates the “home” for content, specifying and overseeing all the sub-contractors who contribute to the vision. He loves his work because it taps his affinity for audio, video, narrative and graphic design all in one place.
Before joining our crew, Mason had his own consultancy, which created digital experiences for a range of clients from start-ups to Fortune 500 corporations. Earlier, he worked as an interactive designer and developer at several respected Atlanta agencies. In addition, Mason taught for four years at The Creative Circus, one of the country’s foremost advertising and portfolio schools, and served a year as the Director of the Interactive Design Department.
He went to Georgia College to study Management Information Systems, where he learned to blend technology, art and commerce into a single medium. When you boil it all down, Mason has always been a curious, creative soul. As the son of an actor, his childhood was infused with music, stagecraft and a healthy appetite for experimentation and problem-solving. All of that comes together in his career at JS.
If he could clone himself, Mason could be a one-man band on vocals, drums, piano and bass, but he claims guitar as his forte. He’ll tell you that music is a gateway for many other skills in life because it helps you connect the dots. Ultimate Frisbee and skateboarding help him unwind, along with outdoor volunteer work near his home in Brookhaven.
Mason literally married his next-door neighbor, Courtney, and says being a father is the best thing that’s ever happened to him.
